Herzog's August 2025 Adventures

At the moment, I can not figure out how to add pictures to this post. Oh, so many new things to learn with this new system. I am glad that I waited until after tax season to address all the latest requirements the IRS mandated us to implement.
August was filled with many St. Louis area adventures:
1) Bob and I went to the Lego Convention at Queeny Park. It was fun to see the creativity that these master LEGO builders created. One man from Ohio made a display highlighting important places in St. Louis, including the Arch, the Zoo, and The Hill.
2) We took my mom to the MO Botanical Gardens, riding the tram for the very first time and walking among the flowering plants.
3) Bob and I took our granddaughter to the zoo to see the Hippos. There were three of them, and we watched as they gracefully got into the water. HaHa. I also took her to the Butterfly House for a Frog and Toad event.

4) I took our grandsons camping at the Eureka KOA camp for one night in the travel trailer. We went swimming in the pool, walked around the area and looked at other campers, played on the playground equipment, and watched a movie. They tried to persuade me to stay a second night—little Cuties.
5) My brother, sister, and I took our mom to the family cemetery so we could clean off the headstones of those who have gone before us. We also took our mom to see the farm where she grew up. She had not seen the farm in over 50 years. She was amazed that the house, barn, chicken coop, and smokehouse were still in use in some capacity. This was a great day as she shared stories of her childhood with us. I brought a small recorder with me and was able to record her. We will have her voice and stories for years to come now.
6) We (6 family members) went to the Festival of Nations in Tower Grove Park. We listened to music, had a bite to eat, walked a lot, sat by the water fountains, and saw all kinds of vendor booths. It was a perfect day.
7) Completed 10 returns in August that had extensions.
All in all, a wonderful month. I hope your month was filled with many happy moments as well. Stay healthy and safe! Carol
